1. Scope
Cookies and similar technologies (such as the browser's local storage and session storage) let a website save information on your device or read information from it. The Personal Data Protection Board's Guide on Cookie Practices applies the same principles to all of them, and so do we.
The site's own code sets no HTTP cookies. All the records we use are kept in your browser's storage and are never sent to our server. General information on how your personal data is processed is on the Privacy Notice page.
2. Strictly necessary storage
The records that remember your language choice, show the opening screen once per session, make the automatic language redirect happen only once and remember your cookie choices are strictly necessary for the site to work as you requested. They do not require explicit consent; their legal bases are the provision of the service and our legitimate interest (Art. 5/2-c and 5/2-f of the Law). They cannot be switched off, but you can delete them in your browser settings.
3. Preference storage
When you open the site from an English page and have not chosen a language before, the language that suits you is determined from a country lookup on our server, your device's time zone and your browser's language setting, and the site redirects you to that language once per session. If you give “Preferences” consent, this suggestion (language and country code) is kept on your device for 24 hours, so it is not looked up again on every visit. Without consent nothing is stored and the suggestion is worked out again in each session. When you withdraw consent, the record is deleted immediately.
4. Third-party content
The site has no advertising or analytics tools. Only two third-party services are used:
- Google Maps: the map on the contact page loads if you gave “Map” consent or pressed the “Show map” button. When the map loads, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies. If you open it with the button without giving consent, the map loads for that page view only and your choice is not saved.
- Google Fonts: the fonts on the pages are loaded from Google's servers. Your browser then sends your IP address to Google; Google Fonts sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. Details: https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq/privacy
5. Records in use
The list below is the complete set of records the site may keep on your device:

6. Managing your choices
When you first open the site, a notice appears at the bottom of the page. Optional categories are off by default and stay off until you choose. “Accept all” and “Reject” are offered with equal ease, and “Preferences” lets you choose category by category.
- You can change your choice or withdraw your consent at any time through the “Cookie preferences” link at the foot of every page.
- Your consent record is valid for 180 days; after that you are asked again.
- When you withdraw preference consent, the related record is deleted from your device immediately. The site cannot delete cookies Google has already set; you can delete them in your browser settings.
- You can clear all data for this site at any time in your browser settings; your language choice and consent record are then deleted as well.
